The first round is going to be the biggest problem. That's because there are 64 teams playing, resulting in 32 games, which is quite a bit of typing to get all the games into a post.
You could type all the games into one post each round (with the number of teams dropping by half each round), or you could post a link to a sports website with a Tournament bracket (ESPN.com or similar). Whichever way you choose, then all of us picking the games would post our picks each week throughout the Tournament.
It's a bit of work on your part, running the pool, keeping everyone's scores, and such, but it's a lot of fun!
The Tournament brackets should be filled out in their entirety prior to the beginning of the Tournament. I earlier stated that they would be filled out each week. (I guess I was still in my weekly College Football mode.......!)
Another approach might be to go by weekends;
First weekend pick the Sweet Sixteen
Second weekend could include all 12 games
Could go once or twice more on Final Four weekend. People would need to react fast if the final game as separated from the Saturday games.

Ok Henry, it's time to get ready for the Tournament.
The Selection show is next Sunday 3/14/10, and the Tournament begins the Thursday of that week 3/18/10.
Basically, people playing in the pool will be able to fill out their brackets between Sunday evening and Thursday morning.
Once the Tournament is underway, you will have to keep score for everyone at the end of each day, as the games are played. You normally score each round of the tournament this way:
1 point for each win in the 1st Round
2 points for each win in the 2nd Round
4 points for each win in the 3rd Round
8 points for each win in the 4th Round, and so on.
Just start with 1 point, and double the points for each succeeding round. The reason you score it this way, is that the players will have filled out their entire brackets prior to the start of the Tournament. So they get rewarded if a team they picked to win early keeps winning. The player with the most points at the end of the Tournament is the winner.
On Sunday, the selection show will air, and all the teams will be picked by the selection committee. Once the show is over, all of the major sports and news websites will have brackets available.
What people playing in the pool will need to do, is fill out a bracket, all the way through to the championship game winner.
Then each player will submit his/her picks for each game of each round, all the way through the Tournament, and then post all of the picks into one post. These picks will need to be posted here before the first game tips off on Thursday. So everyone has a few days to get his/her picks posted here.
The format of these picks should be something like this (so it's in a format that you can score):
Round 1: blah, blah, blah... blah (the winners of each game in the first round)
Round 2: same format as Round 1
Round 3 - Championship Game: same format as above.
It's going to be a lot of typing for everyone playing, to get all of his/her picks posted, but since Cruisemates doesn't post fill-in Tournament brackets, there really isn't any other way for players to post their picks. (Unless someone has a better idea?)
So, once the Selection Show is finished Sunday afternoon, you should have everyone start posting his/her picks.
This is where things can get complicated, if you let them.
You could have players fill out their brackets on other websites. But then, you'd become a bracket wrangler, going from website to website, trying to keep track of all of this.
It's better to have everyone's brackets on one website, so you can score them. I suggested that you have everyone post his/her picks right here at Cruisemates, so that you would have everything right here in one place. I suppose that you could have everyone fill out brackets at another website, but that would make more work for you.
But whichever way you choose to manage this, I know you'll have everyone's support.
More than 100,000 homes in my part of NY are without power .I was without power much of yesterday afternoon .Its still storming here .If I continue to have power I will be on tonight to do the brackets .
Do I copy and paste from a bracket site to CM ?I am unclear on that
