Arrow State abbreviation words

Here is a game I made up years ago:

Combine two-letter abbreviations for states without rearranging the letters to make four-letter words. If you can make six and eight letter words, you get more points. You can't do this with all 50 states, but you can use some by making longer words and many are good for short words. Proper nouns and names are not allowed. Got it?

You don't have to be an American to play but you do need to know the abbreviations for all of your country's states or provinces if any of them can be used.

Just a reminder:

AL = Alabama
AK - Alaska
AR - Arkansas
AZ - Arizona

MI - Michigan
MO - Missouri
MS - Mississippi

Do I need to try it first? Short words are easy if you know the state abbreviations.

FLAK

That was really good, Alan! I did not even know the word ohms.

Yes, mama and papa are fine. There is mo rule against using the same state twice.

Nice job mostly doing it in alphabetical order too.

arms, came, cane, code, come, dame, dear, gala, game, hide, lain, mahi, mane, wand

Is aria a word?

Thanks, it certainly got my brain ticking over. wow I missed a lot more looking at your list, and I'm sure an aria is a musical term.

Now I'm going to look for more 6 letters and hopefully there's an 8 letter one out there somewhere

Alan.

I see you don't even live in the United States. That is the power of the Internet.

There probably is an eight-letter wordl. Good luck with that one.

ARID, COLA, MANY, PAIL

I'm sure there are more.

No, you need at least four. Also, the word is INLAID.

Alan, what is a Concorde? That word makes me think of the doomed Concordia.

Oops, I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote dame.

Six-letter word: decade.

Hi Andrea, The Concorde was one of the most amazing pieces of aviation constrction to ever come out of Europe, and the most beautiful passenger aircraft ever conceived - imho of course

It flew at twice the speed of sound (faster than most figther jets) carrying 100 passengers plus crew at a height of 60,000 feet. It was launched in 1969 having been completely designed and built without the aid of computer technology.

Not sure about the copyright on photo's, so instead of inserting the image, I'd ask you to please cut & paste the following to Wikipedia ....

and see what you think.

Wow, that thing looks more like a fighter jet than a passenger plane!

I have a hard time understanding why a normal-looking, slow-moving cruise ship had an Italian variation of that name.

BTW I was able to click on the link you provided. No copy and paste necessary.

Back to the game: Decode is a word, right?

Paul, flasky and vine don't count. U.S. territories are not included. Is flasky even a word in the English language?

However, if you are Canadian, you can try to do it with those provinces.

If we are going to include human names, try this one: Neal.
