Celebrity Cruises, the premium line under the Royal Caribbean International umbrella, offers four levels in its Captain's Club loyalty program. Points can also be accrued by sailing on sister company Azamara, but not on Royal Caribbean. However, there are opportunities to enroll in the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' Crown and Anchor Society program at the same level after six cruises with Celebrity.

One thing we like about the Celebrity program is that you can earn up to three points toward the next level on a single cruise. Booking an AquaClass stateroom, Concierge Class or Suite on a cruise of 12 days or more gives you as much program credit as taking three separate cruises -- one extra point for the suite, another bonus point for a cruise of 12 days or more.

The first level, Classic, offers the usual complimentary cocktail party and a free upgrade within the same category you booked (inside to inside, for example). The upgrade does not apply to verandah cabins or suites. You also get priority air reservation services and pre-sailing restaurant reservations.

The second level, Select, starts with your sixth cruise and offers more interesting rewards -- a free behind-the-scenes tour, a wine seminar, and priority wait-listing for shore excursions, etc. More details are below.

After five Celebrity cruises, you can enter sister line Royal Caribbean's Crown and Anchor loyalty program at the Platinum level -- the same as you would achieve after five Royal Caribbean cruises. After 10 cruises, you can join Royal Caribbean's program at the Diamond level.

There is also a legacy program for existing members of the Celebrity Captain's Club called "Founder's Classic Members." They tried to eliminate some of the perks, but existing members protested enough that they reinstated them for current members (but not for new members). This wrinkle makes it more complicated to ascertain your exact benefits.

*Cruise Credits are calculated by:

1 cruise credit per sailing
1 additional cruise credit on itineraries of 12 nights or more
1 additional cruise credit for booking an AquaClass stateroom, Concierge Class stateroom or Suite. (AquaClass available on Solstice Class only)
(Maximum of 3 cruise credits per sailing)
A qualified cruise does not involve special faring -- ie. a complimentary cruise would not classify as a qualified cruise.
Azamara Cruises

Effective April 1, 2010, Azamara Club Cruises launched a new loyalty program for Azamara past guests, "Le Club Voyage." For the remainder of 2010, guests who are members of Captain's Club, will continue to accumulate tier credits on both Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises and enjoy the benefits of the Le Club Voyage tier levels that correspond to credits earned. In January 2011, Le Club Voyage credits will be earned separately from the Captain's Club. At that point, guests who sailed on both Azamara Club Cruises and Celebrity Cruises, will have all previously earned credits applied to both programs.

Guests become a Le Club Voyage member after their first Azamara Club Cruise. Members enjoy a variety of rewards, gifts, amenities and services. By booking a Azamara cruise with us, we are able to honor all Le Club Voyage benefits that Azamara offers you, plus we can give you added amenities that they won't. For example, we may be able to give you onboard credits, wine and/or other amenities (based on the exact trip you book). If you'd like to take advantage of Le Club Voyage benefits you must enter your past passenger number while booking online, or provide it to the agent you book with over the phone. This will ensure that you will get the best Azamara cruise deals possible!


Earning Begins With Your First Voyage:

• Earn 1 credit - When booking a voyage of up to 11 days.
• Earn 1 additional credit - When booking a voyage of 12 days or more.
• Earn 1 additional credit - When booking in a Club Suite category.

There are three membership levels in Le Club Voyage: Adventurer, Explorer and Discoverer. Please see below for specific details about each level.

Adventurer: (After 1st Sailing) 1-4 credits

Explorer: 5-9 credits

• A bottle of champagne on arrival, compliments of the Captain
• Upon reaching this level, a welcome back gift will be sent to your home after your voyage
• Private and exclusive cocktail party with Senior Officers and staff
• One complimentary bag of laundry wash, dry, and press per week
• 20 minutes allowance per day (up to 14 days) of free Internet service
• Exclusive club specialty coffee and tea tasting

Discoverer: 10+ credits
Includes all benefits of the Adventurer and Explorer levels, plus:

• Includes all the benefits of the Adventurer and Explorer levels
• Upon reaching this level, a welcome back gift will be sent to your home after your voyage
• Champagne brunch with Azamara's Senior Officers
• 30 minutes allowance per day (up to 14 days) of free Internet service
• Complimentary wine tasting
• Savings on select onboard purchases
