You are so right about some people pretending to be what they are not. Why, even Obama pretended to be a centrist who was going to listen to the people, end ear marks, bring openness and transparency to Washington, drain the swamp and be a post racial leader. All that sure happened!!!

As far as I am concerned we need to withdraw all of our troops from all over the world.
Since we have lost millions of jobs to China and India, we cannot afford the cost of keeping troops all over the world.
And furthermore invading countries and starting wars only leads to more violence.

Military invasions usually only to destruction of life and financial ruin of countries. And in most cases the invasions are total failures.

We are in the minority because people don't remember history.
Instead they like to (chicken-hawks). They would chicken out of going to war themselves, but they love to send others. I can't stand to hear people say that they feel safe because their neighbors are dying in wars that will only bring on more violence and bankrupt our economy.

It is American youth that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan just as it was in Vietnam . My high school's 50th reunion will be in 2011 . A vast amount of guys I graduated with died in Vietnam . Nearly all of my friends were in the armed services in the 60's .All but one are members of the Vietnam Veterans Against The war . They understand that the soldiers in Irag and Afghanistan are dying for oil . One of my friends told me that of all the members of Congress only 4 have children or grandchildren currently serving .Perhaps it should be mandatory for all elected officials -congress ,senate ,the white house to have their children ,grandchildren in the military .Maybe ,just maybe that will end this insanity .
This was a thread about an incident in Mexico, where a couple went jet-skiing, wandered into waters in a dangerous area in Mexico, and sadly found real trouble.... and the aftermat of that incident.
Taking that topic, and turning it into a discussion of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is just too much of a stretch, so I'm locking this thread.
