A Bad Day At Sea [with power] Always Beats A Good Day At Work

I love it when he points to the Galapagos and says "Now - THIS IS HAWAII" in front of the "expert" and nobody corrects him - ever, at least in the shot.
You would think that if he was corrected on the air then Comedy Central would have shown it - just to see his reaction. "Oh, I knew that, just testing you...."

I've found that most of the "Talking Heads" are usually "Talking Pin Heads." I have never understood why so many people take what these people say as gospel or think their opinions are facts.
Take care,

Well, someone has to sit there and look well groomed, educated, knowledgeable about everything under the sun and collect huge sums of money--remember the song by Don Henley ( Eagles fame ) a few years back called " Dirty laundry ?" --one line was " you just have to look good you don't have to be clear"--another was " the bubble headed bleached blond comes on at 5--she can tell you about the plane crash with a gleam in her eye". I think Don had it nailed pretty good.
I agree Sanchez seems to be a little full of himself but I guess with the dough they pay him, he can afford to be.

Well, some are pinheads and some actually make sense most of the time. Those who make sense usually can answer the critical callers, while those who don't make sense cannot -- and those who cannot answer critical callers usually end up leaving the airways because people recognize the deficiency and stop listening. That's exactly why quite a few conservatives and virtually no liberals have succeeded as hosts of radio talk shows, for example.

Somewhere along the way, many of our schools -- both public and private -- stopped teaching students to think critically for themselves and started rewarding students for parroting their teachers' opinions. Thus, a significant segment of our population is utterly incapable of critical thought.
But those who never learned to think critically typically are not going to listen to talk radio because the callers who challenge the host force the listener to think critically in order to decide whether the caller or the host is correct.
That is a great video of the experts at CNN at work!!
On my last couple of cruises they only offered CNN for news reporting and it nearly drove me nuts because it was the only available source of so-called news.
I would have to agree with Norm; about the education system in this country is not teaching students to think, but rather just indtorctrianation.

I really don't know what they teach in school these days, since I have no kids. I would not want to pass judgement.
If popular culture is any judge though, it is very easy to be cynical. Cynical about popular culture.
Why is Rick Sanchez on TV? I have never heard him utter a single thing I found to be deep thinking. And I used to respect CNN just like I did the evening news, but now it seems CNN has gotten so mainstream - like News for the Oprah audience.
Did anyone here happen to cathc the digs at CNN done on Saturday night live last weekend? Talking about how boring they, how they don't do any news anymore, and all they rely on is tweets and iReports from total strangers. It was so true it was laughable.
I do think they did a fair amount of indoctrination when we were kids, but it was more about things to like about this country rather than things to find fault with.
