Carnoval, Australia,Tipping and Coffee

Apparently Carnival has discovered a couple of things re Aussies and may I add these are not just Aussie characteristics:

Tipping is not part of the Aussie culture therefore while the Carnival Spirit is deployed in Oz - there will be no tipping on board.

More importantly, JMHO, they recognise that the coffee has to be improved so they are going to employ Australian baristas to make flat whites.

What is a "flat white?" - I had no idea Aussies were so particular about coffee.

I did know that Aussies do not have tipping in their culture - something the cruise lines will have to deal with.

A "flat white" is similar to Latte but not as milky or frothy.

Starbucks have been selling flat whites in the UK for maybe 2 years.

Many Aussies find American coffee too weak and frequently add an extra shot or 2 to the lattes.
