Re: Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 Cruis
Luann,
Right now I'm looking at the 6/27 sailing...and some friends are already booked. Of course if Kuki starts a group - I will have to pay attention no matter what date
Re: Re: Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 C
What kind of special events would there be if any? If the price is right, maybe we could be persuaded to change to a week later. We have a cabin already booked and maybe with a comparitable cabin, we would change. Does the cruisemates cruises have pretty good pricing. If they do we might even be able to convince 3 more people to come too.
Of course, then I would have to add 7 days to my countdown clock!

Luane...
Our group cruises always have all sorts of extra group activities. We organize our own group activities and fun.... unusual games and competitions. Whatever fun "schtick" the person hosting the cruise comes up with.
Many times we also include or organize private group shore tours.
Our group cruises also normally feature TERRIFIC pricing, because we shop them with quite a number of agents, and are normally able to secure some pretty sharp pencils in exchange for the promotion/advertising they receive on the CM web site.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alask
Kuki,
Now you teasing us.... Any chance you can share your timeframe for putting things together? I don't want to make my plans until I see what you come up with and I will be trying to use frequent flier miles (which is always challenging - even 11 months out).
Re: Re: Re: Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 20
The only reason I would not do an Alaska cruise is that I've always heard that there were many, many older people on the ships. I am correct in that fact?
Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 Cruise?
Kuki,Gram's dream cruise for 2004 would make a wonderful Cruisemates cruise.
Mid September sailing , 14 days on the Summit. Vancouver to San Diego with a 7 day Glacier Bay Cruise and then stops going down the coast from Seattle to SanDiego.
This is the cruise we were going to do in 2003 before we diverted to the 11 day two island Hawaii trip (non cruise). Make this a Cruisemates cruise and we will finally get to meet. (and there are no Urns on Summit).
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alask
Kuki, keep me posted. I just got back from Alaska doing land excursions and will be writing a story about it shortly. Meanwhile, I'd love to do an Alaskan cruise with you, and I hear yours are always a ton o' fun!

Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 Cruise?
I can assure you...You guys have me "on the case" in search of the right deal for Alaska. Just give me a bit of time, and I promise we'll have something for you.
One problem I find with shopping Alaska cruises too early is that prices seem pretty high a long ways out, and then seem to drop considerably closer to sailing dates.
So... when choosing a cruise line for that itinerary, we have to keep in mind the various cruise lines policies regarding passing on price reductions, even after final payments are made.
Unfortunately Princess is one of the worst in this regard!

I WANT TO GO. i just got back from the 7 day glacier bay cruise on the carnival spirit and had a wonderful time. i absolutely love vancouver and want to go back for a longer time to take in that great city. i would love to go back to alaska and be with your fun group. i am watching your posts for any plans. dusty
Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 Cruise?
But Princess gives one of the best Alaskan experiences. Have also sailed RCCL and Celebrity to Alaska and it can't come close to Princess as far as providing a great Alaskan experience onboard. HAL is also pretty good in Alaska.
Re: Kuki - Any Chance Of A Cruisemates Alaska 2004 Cruise?
Kuki,
How about RCL? Vision of the Seas in June? Have to be in Anchorage for a grad. May 30th. We are planning on a cruise after that. I hear the call of the moose all the way down here to Fl.
