We will be cruising on the Splendour in Nov. 04 out of Tampa for 7 in Western Carrib. Where are you leaving from and to where? What type of cabin do you have? How many in your party? (any kids)? What ports are you going to?
If you would give your impressions the good, the bad and the ugly.....we sure would appreciate it....what I'm wondering about now is ....are there additional charges for exercise classes on the ship? Is there 24-hour coffee sevice? We booked a superior stateroom w/balcony (good size room?) So far we have 15 going (1 10 year old) hoping there'll be fun things for the 10 year old on the ship.
Our itinerary is lined up like this: St. Georges Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel, and Belize City.
Hi Tigger,
This will be my first cruise on RCCL, but my third total. We booked an outside cabin on deck 6. We are going to Cozumel and Costa Maya. There will be 3 of us. Myself, my son,(it's his grad. present) and a friend of mine. Can't find many others that are sailing with us. When we return, I will post a full review. Get your countdown calendar going. It will be here before you know it. TTYL

I was on another board and found a thread about the clocks. I just followed the instructions. We're starting to do the little things to get ready. Checking out hotel prices, looking at excursions, ect. It really is getting closer now. Yahooooooo !!!!

The excitement is building.......do you know what cabin you have? I do, it's going to be on Deck 7 (love that number) with balcony.....hope its great, can't wait to hear your reviews!
You are crazy. Those that need to know, already do. Tell me you aren't excited. I know better. After all, you are the one that's packed already. 19 days and counting.
I pack early. Never know when you have
to move around last minute.
From my Boy Scout days BE PREPARED!!!!!!!
Never know last minute you might be
asked on a different cruise, or
Uncle Sam may need me to kick ass!!
And since that wont take long, I want to
be ready to go.Crusin that is!!!!!!!!
O.K.
I've started packing, only because I'll go through it everyday until we leave. Gotta make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
ONLY 13 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!
I was on the cruise from Galveston on 3-6-04. I had a wonderful time, except for the fire delay, it was wonderful. Let me know how your experience was.
hi Kala,
We had a great time. There were a few things I wasn't happy about, but didn't let it stop my from having a good time. We didn't have a table in the dining room, so we ate in the windjammer, which was more our style anyway. the fog was unbelievable, but eventually cleared out. I paid $45.00 for a hair due I didn't like, so I took it down. Of course the fire got everyone a little wound up, but there was not a mass panic. These were the down points.
The up points.....
We made so many new friends, both staff and passengers. Our shore excursions were great. The weather in Cozumel was wonderful for the glass bottom boat. the colors were very bright. At Costa Maya we did the Chakchoben Ruins. The temp. was perfect. Our guide, Luis, helped with the excavations, so we got a lot of info on the ruins.
We took 10 rolls of pics Along the way. Best of all, we have memories of new people, places and things that we didn't have before.
I would not let the little things stop me from sailing with Royal again. We had a wonderful time.
Hi Dzamma,
Sorry to hear about your down points on your trip. You mean to tell me that the dining room was so full you all couldn't be seated for dinner? Did you all ever get to eat in the dining room?
How were your cabins and did your kids enjoy the trip and the actual cruise?
Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm new, ya know.
Did you all feel safe on the ship (ie terrorists threats against cruise lines) and in ports?
How was the food on the ships..........Oh yes one biggee, were the pools on the ship saltwater or fresh water?
Thanks Dzamma hope to hear back from you and glad you all are back safe and sound.
Hi tigger,
Uor sea pass card had a # for the dining room. However, when we got there, we were told that that was not our table. they would have to find us a table. So upset with the factthat they gave our table away, we did not return to the dining room. The food in the windjammer was good. We had no complaints.
Our cabin was great. Room for everything we needed to put away. My son is now addicted. He had a good time.
We felt safe the whole time. Even during the fire. Nothing that happened on this cruise would ever stop me from cruising again.
Yes the pools are salt water. Very salty !!! The hot tubs are fresh water.
Go with an open mind and happiness and you will have a great time. Ley me know if you have any other questions.
