Hey Kuki, you folks picked a winner when you assigned Mike to host our cruise on the Pride, Feb. 1st. Although this was his 1st time with this duty, myself and the others would like to thank him for a job well done. We even have a new name for him. In Canada we have our Moose (Kuki) and now introducing the new west coast host. THE BEAVER. Instead of horns he's going to wear those big buck teeth and hang a ping pong paddle off the back of his pants (now there's a Kodak moment).
Mike, myself and I'm sure the others on our cruise would like to thank you for a job well done. Can't wait till we do it again.
Cruisemates staff please take note, even though we had a small group it was the most active on our board. Myself and the outhers would like to see another Cruisemates West Coast Cruise with Mike as our host.
Here-here, Gary, and Dhyanna was great as First Lady. :-)
I agree, too, we were a lively group before and during. It was so nice to run into folks here and there, as we ate, pool lounged, etc.
Even though Art and I were total schleps on board (doing next to nothing) we had a super relaxing time. Moreover, we really enjoyed the ports (even though this was our 4th time). Weather, too, was fantastic -- best I've ever experienced.
I'm off on the Ecstasy Monday on a solo cruise (which should be something different), while Art holds down the real estate fort.
I agree, again, great cruise on the Pride!
Harry

Cruiseguy.. we're delighted that the Pride group went off so well, and appreciate your comments about Mike as host.
I loved the fact "your group" was so chatty on the boards, and got to know each other in advance of the cruise.
I know from my own experience, our groups are relatively easy to host, because we get so many GREAT people to host, and when you get so many people like that, encouraging them to mesh and enjoy each other is easy.
Just wanted to add my thanks for a job well done, Mike and (the lady behind the man) Dyanna! They are both great people and soooo much fun. We had to pull Mike and Capt Ron apart when they started talking computers ) !!! Too many other things to do.
On our last evening on the Pride, we had the pleasure of hearing Cruiseguy sing. He put on a great show!!! Lonnie has the patience of a saint to sit through all those Karioke nights!!!! The good (including Gary) was VERY good but the bad was...well...
We were especially lucky that Snowyowl and Hiram (Ann too), decided to join us. They contributed a lot with their joy of the cruise.
Along with Mike and Dyanna, we got to share our dining table with Marci and Donna - so much fun! After port days, it was always a kick to see what they found to buy...
Hiram and Ann: With your complicated plans to get home after disembarking, we hope you had a good trip home. How are your land legs? This is the first time I got away from a cruise and got motion sick sitting at my desk in my office )
I am just taking a break from the chaos. I am working on another major project that is keeping me very busy.
Again, I need to apologize for not getting in the message boards more often but, it seems that there are more things to do than there is time to do them.
I will admit that I am amazed that everyone has the time to get in here and send messages as much as you all do. I sometimes find trouble finding time to just read them, let alone write something too!
Overall, I can't thank you all enough for the kind words for both Dyanna and myself. This cruise was by far, one of the best cruises we have been on in years but, I will agree with Kuki... the success of this trip wouldn't have been possible without all of you. We made some great friendships that really made this cruise experience special.
I have noticed that everyone has posted their GREAT photos in the Photo Gallery already, yet I am still struggling with getting my site completed. It seems that every time I try to get started, something else comes up that interrupts that process. I promise that it will get completed soon.
Am going on the Diamond Princess in Feb. 2005, Cruiseguy...want to join us??? Maybe we can get Harry and Art, and Shar and Ron....and Hiriam and his wife???
I see that Shar is already on the Diamond for New Years......am thinking I would like to cruise when it' not a holiday....I have heard so many negative things about too many kids and cruises full to capacity......
Marci, thats really the only thing thats holding us back also. The Diamond in Feb., Hmmmmm. Sounds good, always looking for new things. In fact, I 'm going to cancel the 8 nighter on the Spirit 12/11/04 and rebook an 11 nighter on the Mercury going to the same place 12/06/04. Let me know what you find out about the Diamond and by all means we should contact our other West Coasters.
Sorry we can't join you kiddos. I'm hoping that Princess' policy limiting kids will keep the sounds and activity down to a dull roar. )
Of course, we plan to get noisy on New Year's eve.....hopefully we'll be able to stay awake until midnight. hahaha - New Year's Day is a sea day and we'll sleep in.
The main reason we took this particular cruise was because of the additional ports - not to mention a longer time at sea.
