We're starting to hear lots of interesting things about Royal Caribbean's new "Freedom of the Seas", and although the idea of doing another Western itinary doesn't thrill me, but going on this ship sure does, plus it has one new stop for me and also includes Labadee which I love.
Are any others seriously considering booking a cruise on this new ship?
Hi 2,
The new port at least for me is Montego Bay in Jamaica...Been to Jamaica before and wasn't thrilled with it, may-be this would be better, not sure, but some new port is always nice, plus Labadee.
Montego Bay is not fun. The only thing worth doing in that port is going to Sunset Beach Resort (Very close to the pier). It is $25 per person and you get unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non) and food for the day and use of their facilities.
It's a great deal and we had a blast, skip the shopping in Montego Bay they are REALLY pushy and offer you tons of drugs.

I would like to interact with dolphins, and hang with the rays. I would be up for a cruise like that in Mar/Apr 2006. Seems so long to wait....haven't booked anything yet still trying to learn a little bit first!!!!!
Yes, I did book with a group of others that I have met on past cruises! We're sailing on 11/26/06. I wasn't thrilled about the western itinerary - but not because of Jamaica (which I have always enjoyed). I haven't been to Montego Bay before so I'm looking forward to it

In case you didn't know, the Aft balcony cabins are priced higher than the other balcony cabins on this ship...And beginning in April, 2007 the ship will do alternating itins---Eastern and Western...No word yet on which eastern ports.
I am very interested in sailing on this ship. in 11/04, we did a family & friends cruise (30 people) on the Navigator of the Seas, and my kids & grandkids asked that we book another one for 11/06 (11/05/06 if possible). I've been trying to get group space on the Freedom of the Seas (approx 35 passengers/14 or 15 cabins), but have been told that RCCL hasn't opened up any group space yet. Does anyone know if this is true?
