Came across this today while looking at things to do in Mo Bay such as the Sunset Day Resort ....anyone have first hand info on this.....
"NEVER, NEVER, NEVER get into a cab unless it has a red license plate and the words “Juta” prominently displayed on the window. These are the only cabs regulated by the government and the others are shady and very pushy. We made this mistake on the first cab we got at the pier and he tried to convince us to go to some other public beaches. Also, once we got to Sunset Beach, he told us that he didn’t have any change. Yeah, right! "
Thanks

If we leave the ship at all in Jamaica, it will be on a pre-booked tour. I really don't like the port of Montego Bay, and the few little shops on theshore next to the ship have never impressed me.
Just never fall for the "I'll give you a tour" spiel from the driver.
There are set prices to destinations from the cruise terminal and they are reasonable. Your cab may be a bus depending on where your going. The shopping here is only for the brave.
Decide where you want to go before getting the cab.
