Seems like we have been waiting for this cruise forever. We also have first seating traditional dining. Just wondering how may of the guys plan on wearing a Tux on formal nights? DH is trying to decide if he should just bring a Sports coat or wear a Tux, personally I like the Tux.
Oh! I'm jealous. We're waiting on our new passports to get here to do that. They expire just after the cruise so rather than take a chance we renewed early. Sure hope they get here soon so I can join those printing docs. Can't wait.
Aloha fellow Cruisemates! Mac and I are Hawaii virgins (tee hee), so we're hoping to pick up information from those of you who have sailed this itinerary before.
We're kind of nodding our heads at the Fern Grotto/luau excursion, but haven't made up our minds. Please let us know if this tour is a "must". A whale watching excursion would be great too. We'd also appreciate your opinion on whether it's better to book ship tours or go independent?
We love to golf, but can't hit the ball straight if our lives depended on it, so we've substituded the actual game for the "golf channel". Our local golfers sleep much better at night knowing they won't have to duck and dodge now that we're not on the course very much.
I do have one personal goal for this cruise. Having 7 Princess cruises under our belts, I have yet to make it to an afternoon tea. But with 8 glorious days at sea, I might get there yet!
Woo Hoo~ Passports came yesterday All docs, boarding passes and luggage tags printed and ready to go for our next two cruises. Flights have been booked for a while, all transportation and hotels arranged, clothes hanging and ready to be dropped into suitcase. Now with the holidays here we will be on our way in no time. I am a happy camper
Finally booked our air today. Patience paid off finally. Got Pheonix to LA return for $238 return for the both of us. I'm a happy guy.
Excellent! We're still checking return airfare prices. We purchased the Omaha to LA flight for $120 pp including luggage. Return flight (LA to Omaha) is $263 pp. Go figure! Maybe we should plan to stay on the Sapphire and cruise until airfare goes down. hahahah
With the holiday season finally over its time to concentrate on cruising!! I haven't been posting much lately it was kind of touch and go as to wether or not we would be able to make this trip. The small company DH and I both worked for went out of business so we both ended up unemployed for awhile. The good news is we now work for a great company from Tacoma Wa. that will allow us to take 2+ weeks of vacation time even though we have less than 3 months with the company.
We are excited to be able to make this trip on the Sapphire, our first cruise was on the Sapphire so I guess that makes it special for us. We are also looking forward to meeting everyone, this will be our first group cruise it will be nice to be able to meet some new friends.
No doubt that had to be a stressful time for you. Congrats on finding a position for both of you (not easy in today's world, I'm sure), and with a company nice enough to allow you to keep your vacation plans. Kudos to them.
Happy New Year to everyone wishes of health, happiness and more cruises.
We have tucked Santa in the cupboards having had a wonderful sweet season in our Candy and Chocolate Store. Next week cupid will fly out but while he is settling in we will start to concentrate on our great holiday. We are looking forward to renewing our friendship from the 03 cruise. Traveling with us is my sister Jan and her husband Phil ( a professional photographer) and Grants best friend Rene ( a Anglican Minister) and his wife Ruby. The six of us can hardly wait to fly out of the cold north of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada just to the North of Kuki.
Today we booked our hotel on Price Line the Harbor Inn Crown Plaza for an amazing $65 dollars. We also booked our airfare a direct flight on WestJet for 569 return including taxes. We thought that was okay also.
Are we going to be able to fly kites off the back of the ship?
