There are still cabins available for new folks to join us on this group cruise. We've had a price reduction, and here are the new prices available to anyone else who wants to join us..
New rates for Sapphire Princess 2/26/2011
Rates are based on double occupancy, per person & include port charges &
taxes.
I, for one, am glad to see this site up and running. I have been active on "another board" and hope our activities don't over lap.We are available for being "designated walkers" if anyone needs assistance getting home at night. Dirk is celebrating 26 years of sobriety on this cruise, but we still know how to have fun!
February can't get here fast enough. The sea days of a Hawaii cruise are the best.See you at the meet and greet.
Me (Marianne)
Aloha!
I'm Shar (pronounced share) and my DH is Capt Ron. This will be our second Get Lei'd cruise, the last one was Get Lei'd 3 on Island Princess.
We've had a self-imposed dry spell from cruising due to the $$$, but we're almost baaaaacccckkk!!
We've scheduled our tours on the islands (pending mind-changes before the cruise ):
So far these are our plans:
We're staying the night before the cruise at San Pedro's Doubletree with the park and sail package.
Hilo - Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden
Honolulu - Polynesian Cultural Center and Luau
Kauai - Repeating the Na Pali Zodiac Snorkeling cruise
Maui - Whale watching with a private vendor out of Lahaina
I am soooooooooooo ready for this cruise!!!! Kuki.......glad ya got it when ya did........we'll celebrate our 30th anniversary with this cruise.........a few months early......but what they hay.......
Seems like it's been forever waiting for the fun to start........can't wait to see old friends & make some new ones......
We are Guerry and Linda and currently live in NC. We moved here after Guerry retired from the Army so he could work for the Air Force. How's that for a switch? We are very excited about Get Lei'd 5. As a mater of fact the first CM (before it was Cruisemates) cruise we did was a Get Lei'd cruise. We met so many wonderful folks and have been "hooked" since. That wasn't our first cruise but it was the first with an organized "group" other than with family and or friends. We have done all but one of the Get Lei'd cruises and can't even remember why we had to miss that but it would have been something really significant to have kept us away as these are our favorites. The more sea days, the better.
We most likely won't do many or any of the shore excursions since we lived in HI for almost 10 years and will opt to visit friends and see how much the old homestead has changed. We are, however, going into LA on the 25th and staying a day after the cruise to get an early morning flight. We're at the Crown as I see some of you are so we'll have to do a meet and greet at the hotel.
The countdown clock is ticking but I wish it would go a bit faster. We just returned from a cruise, will be doing the CM Chef Matt cruise with CM's in about 6 weeks then only around 12 1/2 weeks until HI! Counting it that way makes it seem shorter to me.
Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Aloha!
Got the updated invoice from Nancy today and it really is getting us excited about the cruise!
Kuki - We never received an email from you
My wife and I took this cruise (not with CM) a few years ago and it was wonderful. We are pretty new on here, so we look forward to getting to know everyone!

Unfortunately I had many of the emails for the group bounced back to me. Discussed this with Nancy, and she said she would get updated email addresses to me.
Hopefully I'll get the updated lists soon, and can attempt to get the group members who don't regularly follow the boards to come out and play.
LINDA.. VERY much looking forward to seeing you and Guerry again for another romp to through the islands.
Have sent e-mail to Nancy on our address. Would like to know which airport is the best to fly into and the best hotel to stay. Have sailed out of LA but it was with RCI.
The best choices are either Crowne Plaza or Doubletree for places to stay. If you get their fly and sail package (so they'll pick you up and return you to the airport) - I believe they only offer a shuttle from LAX. As to other airport options, I'm sure you'll get more replies for this.
Hello
I'm new in cruising and I plan a cruise in Mediterranean sea for Christmas. Can you give me any suggestions.
Hi Donika! Welcome Aboard! You need to repost under another board, since this one is just discussing our cruise to Hawaii. Go up to the Message Boards menu and click on either Destinations (where you can go to the Europe board) or Cruise Lines (where you can communicate with people on your ship)or back to the Meet on Board section and find posts for your specific cruise. Good luck and happy cruising!!
Shar
We are curious as to what arrangements have been made on Group dinner arrangements. We have requested early sitting and that has been confirmed.
What are the rest of you all are doing? Are we sitting as a group? We don't want to be sitting alone.
Helen will be in her wheel chair and I will be riding my scooter. We did that in the Emerald and it worked out very well. Denise, our daughter, will be pushing Helen.
Happy scootering.
oh forgot. We will staying the night before at the Crown Plaza. Let all get together for supper that nite ok?
Dirk will have his scooter, too. Perhaps we can have races with others...maybe even have enough for relay races. Do you think we get "extra points" for running down teenagers? It seems like people claim extra points for running slow old ladies
Kuki...how about scheduling scooter races! Or maybe an obstacle course????

I have no idea what type of dining I have. Comes from being dealt with so long ago I guess.
But no doubt Nancy will have all those with similar dining times cross-referenced, as she always does with our groups. Of course that doesn't include the "anytime" folks, but it shouldn't be difficult to organize a group dinner a couple of times for those folks too.
We have early dining and hope to join those of you who'll be eating at the same time. Of course, there are other meals on the ship.....right? Breakfasts and Lunches and early and late meals, teas, and snacks....we hope to dine with most of you at least once on the cruise!!!
Shar
PS - We just got a rate drop for our BB stateroom!!!
Shar - We got the updated invoice from nancy last week, but the Balcony rooms really didn't drop that much. Are you saying that they went down since last week, or do you mean that they went down from the initial booking?
Guess we have one of those cabins that didn't see a drop since our invoive is exactly the same as the first one. Would have been nice to have but will take what I have and be happy with it. Getting closer now and won't be as long as it has been.
I have been looking on Crowne Plaza web site checking out hotel in San Pedro. Looks pretty good and it seems they offer shuttle service from hotel to cruise terminal. Do they offer a shuttle service from LAX to hotel for a fee? Could not find any info on this from web site. Any info will be appreciated.
Frank--We are using a shuttle called "Primetime" They are recomended by the Hotel. I have paid in advance and they pick you up at the curb side at the air terminal. You do not have to walk over to the center isle. Good feature. Also they are picking us up at the pier when we return and taking us to the Airport Crown Plaza for the one nite before flying home the next day.
If you cannot find it on the puter. give me a shout and I will assist.
They are very resonalable. for 3 of us round trip is about $100. That is a deal.
