I was really disappointed in reading the news that Crystal has banned all residents from the Toronto area on all cruises until May. This ban came as a result of the SARS outbreak in this city. As a resident of Toronto, I have never worn a mask, nor have I had contact with anyone who's visited any of the area hospitals affected by SARS.
I believe that this decision is premature and sends the wrong message. I certainly understand the need for caution, and I know that a new disease can cause alot of anxiety. The CDC in Atlanta has not issued the same warnings about traveling to Toronto as they have for many places in Asia. I am greatly hurt by Crystals decision and I will never cruise with crystal AGAIN!!!!!!!
