QE2 to Capetown 22 October

We will be on this trip - ayone out there going too? We have been given an upgrade from C3 to C2 (4078 to 3060) We suspect that this is because there have been many cancellations and maybe they are leaving some decks empty. Does anyone have any info about the sort of accomedation with this grade. We are first time travellers on cruise liners ( longest we have done is Potsmouth to Northern Spain so this will be an eye opener for us) Any info wellcome.

Sailed QE2 two times, once to Europe, and tail end of the world cruise. Both times I felt the ship was not as clean or maintained as well as other ships of similar age.
Dining room service was varied, once we had a an excellent waiter from Spain and the next time a young Brit that needed polish.
I did enjoy the bar staff and i felt the bartenders were excellent, they had many interesting stories about the QE 2, and were always friendly.

Caution should be exercised in Capetown as a recent couple we meet from there explained personal security and saftey should be taken with the utmost seriousness. They suggest leaving anything of real value on board, and be carefull where you travel.

The QE2 does offer an excellent "ride" and she is a very sea worthy vessel.Best of luck on your cruise.
