Cabins, Decks, and Kennels?

I may sail on May 12th to Southampton, but this time can only afford a Mauritania outside cabin. How are these? They all seem to be located right at the very front of the ship, which I hear is not so comfortable. Is that true?

Someone on this board said there was an unpleasant diesel/sewerage smell on decks 4 and 5. Again, is that true?

Also, has anyone brought their dog on board for the trip? How are the kennels?

I have had cabins on 3 and 5 . The movement was minimal and there was no fuel smell. She's a pretty big ship and it's hard to rock her aaround.
