We were thrilled and excited to have booked this Bermuda cruise last year...you see, it would mean that we would celebrate our 35th anniversary in Bermuda, the place that we honeymooned . The legendary QE2 made it even more exciting...since we had never cruised before. Unfortunately, September 11th changed everything for us. My husband is in law enforcement in NYC and it was impossible for us to sail on Sept. 28th, the scheduled departure date. Cunard was kind enough to honor our request for credit, considering our situation. We are now booked on this year's sailing, but have only been able to get an M3 cabin. I'm told that the room size is 130 sq.ft.. The ship is totally booked, so my request for another cabin is on a wait list basis. Can anyone give me any advice or reassurance that will help me to feel better about this. I'm worried that it will be uncomfortable and cramped and hinder the enjoyment of the trip. Thanks all for your excellent help and expertise.
Hi Liz,
I have sail in an M3 cabin and found it quite comfortable, we did find the cabin creeks while in rough waters so at night we got ear plugs from the pursers office.
The ship is wonderful if you can remember that it's not like the modern cruise ships with huge atriums and glass everywhere you will have a wonderful time.
My first cruise was 2 years ago and it was on the QE2. Infact I'm going on my 3rd cruise at te end of this month. I loved crusing and there is nothing like the QE2! The atmosphere is very reserved but comfortable. I'm very envious of you.

I am sailing on the 19th also (cabin 1117 C3). Our room is 186sq feet (we could of gotten a larger room in this cat., but wanted to be on 1 deck (aft by the pool), so that we could just walk out the door and go a few steps and be out in the open air.
There are three of us sharing this room - configured for three - this is an adequate size so I think 140 should be fine. If you were to say less than 120, that might be cramped.
My mother and I are traveling in an M3 cabin for this trip as well. This will be my third time on QE2, but my mother's first.
You should only be in your cabin to sleep and change clothes so the size isn't much of an issue. The closet and dressers are large, and you can ask your cabin steward to store your luggage for the duration of the trip.
I agree with the ear plug suggestion. I've done that every time I've cruised.
Sorry for my long delay in responding......Thank you everyone for your advice and imput. I'm feeling more comfortable about the cabin size, since the redeeming factor is that it is midship...and I'm a bit concerned about the "motion of the ocean".
After reading the boards here and at other sites, I've learned so much about cabins and dining that I knew nothing about when I initially booked. Had I know all this, I probably would have pushed my TA for something that would have included Caronia dining....sounds lovely.
But, I'm happy to be sailing...and will, I'm sure, enjoy the trip. Again, thanks for all the words of encouragment both here and on other boards. Can't believe how well informed some of the posters are.
thanks jeanne....I have been reading those postings and I'm amazed at the wealth of knowledge. I wish I had done my homework prior to booking...but will certainly make use the tips and suggestions that I've found. So nice that people are willing to share their knowledge and experience with the newbies. Much appreciated.
You will still have a great time. I agree that a small inside cabin is not desirable (M3?), but you will find storage no problem. What deck are you on? Have you deceided on any of the tours yet? We are doing the glass bottom boat and Beechwood.
