Default dress for a princess

We will be making our first ever voyage (ferries apart) September 2003 celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniverary.
QE2 Southampton to New York and really looking forward to it.
Any tips? We are in a Princess Cabin.

It's the old 'Tux' question again! I have one so that's OK. Is it worth investing in a 'White' jacket - or is that 'not good form' when travelling transatlantic in the fall.

My wife wants to know how formal, and my financial advisor wants to know how many formal dresses she needs!

Help!

Well... I generally cross in September and cannot remember seeing a White Jacket. I can say this, though... for 4 of the 6 nights, if I didn't have a tux with me I wouldn't leave my cabin! It is just wonderful... through the evening!

One tux should be fine. Don't bother with the extra bother of a white jacket. I never saw any.

I sailed on the QE2 in May and took two formal pantsuits, mostly because I hate dresses. I found that two were plenty and wore each twice. A skirt or silky pair of black pants and a couple of sparkly tops would be fine also. I found that the dressy, silky-type pants packed well and took up little space. A pair of silver and gold open-heeled shoes worked with both outfits.

I had been worried about the bother of all this formal wear but ended up loving it and am planning on taking another cruise solo next spring.

Re your earlier posting, what was the Princess Grill like & did you have a PG grade cabin? I am booked on a 3 ngt QE2 trip PG grade this December & would welcome any comments re cuisine & accommodation?

Also how did you find travelling solo?

Default Formal nights

Our information says we have 2 formal nights or 4 formal nights on our crossing from Southampton to New York. Which is it? I need to know how much formal clothing to bring! Thanks...
