In response to your questions................
I am contemplating a QE2 world cruise. I have some answers and it would be great if someone would answer them:
1. I saw a World Cruise video from 1982. The service, food, and entertainment looked amazing. Can I expect the same caliber today?
Yes. Very much so.
2. When we dock in South Africa, will Cunard offer a safari excursion? They did on the 1982 video.
QE2 docks in a number of South African ports. All ports in this area have special shore excursions. You will receive a list of shore excusions before you board and you can pick and choose from them. In my opinion however, they are over priced.
3. On the video, Cunard showed many celebrities, jounalists, and local entertainers aboard the ship giving shows and lectures. Can that be expected?
Yes. Without question - and some are big names!!!!
4. On the 1982 video, off-order menu was widely encouraged in all dining rooms. How has the policy changed?
In the Grill categories you can go a la carte. It's less frequent in Caronia and Mauretania.
If you have a world cruise experience, especially a negative one, I would gladly hear it.
Negative? On QE2? Sorry - can't help you there!!!!

)
5. Why doesn't Cunard advertise the garage, kennel, and roundtrip transtalantic services in there brochures any longer.
I think that the garage space and kennels get to be known by travel agents.
6. Does anyone the deck plans for the QE2 pre 1994 they can post?
Regretably not. QE2 has changed so much......... interesting idea though.
Thank You
(We travelled World Cruise sector Cape Town to Southampmton April 2002).
If you can - choose a Grill category cabin. (P3,P2,P1,Qx),
Service and quality are RAZOR sharp!!!! (And well worth it in our opinion).
