My husband and I are booked on the December 15, 2003 crossing, M class. Before we board, we are spending 6 nights in London and 1 night in New York before we return home. Any ideas on how much clothes I should be taking? Planes have a limit as to how much, and I really don't want to exceed the limit! Does my hubby need a tux, or will his dark suits be enough?

If you are booked on British Airways you will get about 35 kg each which should just be enough. If you are using a budget airline for connections be warned that you may only get a 20kg allowance and be charged £4 for each kg over.

Take the tux, especially if you are taking more than one suit anyway. On a transat you will have two nights for dark suits and four for the tux.

QE2 has a free self service laundry on board so you have the option to wash your clothes from London and also dinner shirts during the week. There is also a valet service too at reasonable cost.

Nights 1 and 6 - jacket and tie for men - Nights 2-5 tux/dinner jacket, exc Philadelphians don't dress on Sundays but on Dec xing there is no Sunday nite.
