following her delivery from the shipyard on Monday, Cunard's new "Queen Mary 2" arrived in Vigo, Spain, on Tuesday, Dec. 23rd. Francisco Camino was there to take exterior pictures of the ship. I have now published a photo gallery with 19 pictures taken by Francisco that day:
Is QM2 ACTUALLY going to be carrying Royal Mail? Any letter sent in the UK goes via Royal Mail - but these days most overseas post goes by air and the few postal items that do go by sea do not necessarily go on ships with an 'RMS'. Certainly, QM2 is part of the Merchant Fleet (signified by flying the red ensign) which (for example) means she could be commissioned by the reigning monarch as a vessel to serve during times of war, as was done during the Falklands conflict.
Gary - where/how can I find out which ships are RMS ships?
