I live in New York...but am flying to London (Southampton) and was wondering if anyone has ever put baggage on board a ship from its original dock and then met up with it in London. I don't relish taking it on the plane...so looking for any insight.
Friends are going from NY to NY (they have a month to travel) as I am limited to a two week travel...so there would be someone on the ship to leave the bags with porters.
Cunard offers White Star Luggage Service, which will ship your bag to meet you in London (you bag travels by FedEx, I believe) and a standard large bag shipped from the west coast is about $300, don't know what it would be from the east coast. There are also luggage services that do the same thing, do a web search using "luggage shipping" and a few of them should turn up.
