cunard princess?
Was there a ship called the "Cunard Princess" at one time? I sailed on this ship on an Alaska itinerary about 18 years ago - and I'm pretty sure that is the correct name. However, looking at the ship history on the Cunard website, I don't see any mention of it. When I do a search in Yahoo, some info comes up with that ship name, but not much.

Am I going crazy or was this once a ship??

Re: cunard princess?

Yes, the Cunard Princess is the correct name. It was taken out of the Cunard fleet (along with its sister, the Cunard Countess) sometime in the early 90s, I believe.

Starlauro Cruises bought the Cunard Princess from Cunard back in 1995. She has since been passed on to Mediterranean Shipping Cruises and sails as the Rhapsody.

Re: cunard princess?

You may already know...

During the Gulf War back in 1991, the Cunard Princess was used for rest and
relaxation by the troops in the region. It was docked in Bahrain for several months;
before, during and for a short time after the war. It was a wonderful escape for those
of us who had the opportunity to enjoy the ship's hospitality.

I hope one day to see her again.

We were on it in 1976 or 1977 when it first came out. It was quite an enjoyable cruise.
