Default transfers in athens

help! is anyone else on the aug03 cruise southampton to athens and have you been quoted the quite frankly ridiculous price of USD99.00 EACH from the boat to the airport, i figure even if i get ripped off in a taxi it won't be that much! We have also been told that we have to book before we sail. we didn't have to do that as time and we only paid about about usd20.00 each!
Is anyone else looking to share a taxi or have they had other information? any info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm on this cruise. We have our transfers included though looking at the Cunard price for excurions compared to the P+O prices charged for 2004 excursion nothing suprises me.

It's a shame the call at Gibraltar has now been cancelled as the swimming with the Dolphins was an interesting option

hi cheshire,
tell me do you livein cheshire, because if you do it's an uncanny coincidence as so do i. we booked through a us agent and booked the flight seprately which is how we didn't end up with the transfers. it is a shame gib has been cancelled, but its all something to do with the argument over spain as regards who owns it as i understand. i can't say i'm that bothered about the north africa stop, but i'll make my mind up about it when we get there. anyway, how do you fancy a drink in the golden lion on the first night? we are the youngish couple by the bar - alex and james - he's 6ft 4 with a goatee so you can't really miss us say about 8ish?

ps have you got your docs yet? i take it you have. it's a shame you will miss out on the dolphins, i did it in cuba and it was one of the most amazing experiences i've ever had.

Hi Lexxity,

The name gives it away! We looked in to the flight only option though given the problems with the games starting I knew "miles" seats wouldn't be available.

The documents have yet to arrive though I guess they'll be any day now. We received the excursion docs etc some weeks ago. We're on a late sitting so I'll try to get to the pub. If not you'll most likely find us all in the commodore club before dinner. Mrs Cheshire loves the view from there.....

Hi Lexxity,

I'm sure to be in the Commodore club or bar you can be sure of that. We also prefer to eat late as it's not so much of a rush if you've been ashore or had a day lounging in the sun.

We're sure to be found having afternoon tea though I'm reading thet scones and clotted cream are no longer served.....Argh!!!!!! That's the whole reson for afternoon tea.

I'm sure we will head of to the commodore club after dinner. It seems a place for us though our children will no doubt have other plans!

See you onboard I hope.

Cheshire
