Default QM2 with kids

I know the QM2 has facilities for children, but can anyone tell me whether it is otherwise kid-friendly? I'm thinking of going with small children (toddlers) and wonder whether the ship is too formal for young kids.

I am not sure that I would take toddlers on QM2. One baby in a stroller maybe or maybe a well behaved 10 year old. But toddlers? I just don't see it. QM2 is not geared towards kids. It's not even geared towards a large segment of the adult population. It is sedate, low key, and quiet -- which is what I like about her.

There as a childrens room and program on QM2 with activities for all ages. There is also a childrens pool area, although that is not that appropriate for todlers.

Because of the kids program and also the small number (seldom much into double figures) of children on QE2/QM2 it always appears that there are none. The kids program staff do a very good job of both keeping them entertained and out of the way at the same time so everyone is happy (Cunard tends to be more "mature" experience).

Crew are available for baby sitting too, the cost is reasonable I believe.

I really don't think the QM2 is a place for toddlers, it is very much geared towards adults who enjoy a sedate, quiet pace, adult orientated holiday, although when we last cruised on her there were lots of kids on board and they seemed to be having a good time. Otherwise I have never seen a lot of kids on board. Maybe it depends on what kind of kids they are?

QM2 has a well run children's program. Also, a teen program. They have a splash pool and British nannies for the toddlers, computers for the kids and video games, etc.

My wife and I are also thinking of taking our kids on the QM2 in March. My daughter is 20 months old and I have heard great things about Cunards childrens programs. My mother-inlaw traveled many times across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary with my sister-inlaw who was less than. She told me that the ship was wonderful towards children. So many people post mean things about children becasue they don't like young familys. So go and enjoy.
