hey posters.....im about to book an m1 single inside cabin for the NY to LA section of the 2006 world cruise....has anyone had experience with these cabins. Im aware they are usually only 8 metres sq.....any recommendations for particular cabin numbers...???? or any other little hints.... thanks roscoe
I was in cabin 3053 during the December crossing and I thought it was a perfect inside single. It was actually a bit more spacious than I had imagined and of course it was very well laid out. The bathroom was great, though there was no bath, just a shower. There was a large wardrobe closet and plenty of drawers in the desk/vanity with a lighted mirror. It seemed a bit larger than some other inside Mauretania cabins that I saw and it had lots of wood panelling and charm in general. It seemed like it was designed to be a part of a larger Caronia cabin, so perhaps that's why it had lots of wood panelling. It was also pretty much amidship, which was great for the one really rough day that we had. I would definitely recommend that cabin.
Don't confuse M1 cabins with MI cabins. MI's are single's and M1's are twin cabins. I spent a month in an MI cabin and found it really cosy however the previous occupant must have been a heavy smoker as it took about 3 weeks for the odour to abate ! If you are a non smoker make sure you ask for a non-smoking cabin. One more thing, entertaining in a MI is quite tricky !
marco!!!! entertaining in an mi !!!!!!! what sort of entertaining did you have in mind! Ive just been told by cunard that the singles are all booked for the world cruise and have been offered an m5 #4072....which are the bunk cabins... My memory of these cabins is that they are pretty small so will try and upgrade to an m4., roscoe
I have had an M5 Cabin in the past - basically it's the same as an MI except it has an extra wardrobe and a bunk bed which can be lowered into position. It is impossible for two people to get dressed simulataneously so you can imagine how difficult it is to entertain !!!
Lat Qe2 trip we had an M4....it was good for two people who are good friends...and you dont speand a lot of time in the cabin anyway. #5231.
I was thinking whether t was worth setting up somewhere where we could post a photo of each cabin....????Im sure over a period of time we could just about document all of the accomodations on board...???? any ideas///>>????
Will be on LA to Hong Kong segment in 2006 got cabin 4087, pretty small at 86 sq. ft. but as I only use it for sleeping ,showering and storing my clothes I should manage.
My May 2005 cabin is 4182 which is even smaller at 82 sq ft. Anyone got a shoehorn?
Still those "far away places" are calling my name and I am longing to answer them.
