Hi folks,
I'm looking to do QM2 translantic with a few nighs in New York with a friend next year.
When is the best time to sail regarding a smoother crossing, also what are the inside cabins like?
Who is the best company to book with regarding price?
Thanks.
I crossed in early May. It's very cold out on deck and several days it was too cold and too windy to be out.
We had a storm one night and there was noticeable movement, but it was okay in the dining room on deck 2. It became obvious on the higher decks.
I was on Deck 11 in an inside cabin. My friends were up on 12 in a balcony cabin. They didn't get too much use from the balcony but did enjoy the view especially from the bed or sitting on the loveseat beside the glass door.
The insides are totally dark so you always require a light on. When you wake up you have absolutely no idea whether it's night or day.
There was lots of cupboard space with 4 drawers and various other storage nooks.
I spent little time in the cabin but frankly did miss seeing the world when I woke.
Travelled end May, bit rough in The Bay of Biscay but whats new. Otherwise a great crossing and managed to get in the outside pool too. Otherwise theres that fine indoor pool.
Balcony cabin ( obstructed view by the last lifeboat) was great although as someone else said we didn't get to use the balcony much. But it is great just to sit and watch the sea slip by. I had an indoor on the journey back but at 5am they begunb doing something very noisy under in the ship and that travelled up the ducts . I complained and got moved ( upgraded) for no extra charge.
