After years of postponing a transatlantic cruise the 'old fashioned way' aboard the QEII (the Grand Dame of the Cunard fleet), we have finally booked passage on the April 2007 world cruise segment between Southampton & New York. Our decision to do so was prompted mostly out of concern her days may soon be numbered considering the recent announcement of the pending launch of the Queen Victoria.
Anyway, and despite having undertaken a great deal of research about the ship and her facilities, I do have an outstanding question about the Thalassotherapy Pool on Deck 6. Are passengers permitted to use only the pool without purchasing a spa treatment? If so, is one required to purchase on a per-use basis, or can an unlimited-use pass be purchased? My reason for asking is because we have enjoyed a similar pool on Celebrity (Galaxy, Summit, Constellation, Millennium)and found it to be a most relaxing and pleasurable mid-morning/afternoon experience. Thanks
Reference: the Thalassotherapy Pool on Deck 6 of teh QE2. There is a charge to use the pool. I was offered a package for 7 days usage, you choose the days for $69.95 or you can pay $15.00/day. If you purchase a Spa treatment then it is included.
Thanks 'rok4u2' for the answer to my question concerning information on a per use/package cost for the QE2 Thalassotherapy pool. I will definitely opt for the package option.
As described, the T-pool on QM 2 appears similar to the wonderful T pool on Mercury rather than the one on Summit etc. Hope so--we will try it on our mini cruise in late summer! Not sure about a pass or combining it with a treatment--that may be a better deal for such a short trip.
the charge for the pool is $15/day. like most of the ship it is a dark, dingy affair that shows little regard for maintenance. you do not need to book other spa treatments.
There is a regular pool deep inside the QE2 which is free to all pax; and there is a thallasotherapy spa pool which costs $15 - $20 per day, for all day use. It is cheaper during port days, and your fee covers you all day, so you can come and go as you please. We enjoy the T-spa pool very much and will be using it frequently during the 2007 TRW voyage.
On a recent cruise (March) there were two prices for the Thal. pool. One time use (about $15) and for the duration of the cruise. I don't remember the price.
Best wishes,
