Default QE2 -- QG Cabins on "Boat Deck"

Hi, everybody!

I'm new here and want to thank-you for your help in advance.

I'm thinking of a Queens Grill Single-Person Occupancy Cabin (QG Category) on the QE2. There are two (Room 8209 and Room 8210), along with a very few other Grill cabins, on the "Boat" Deck. These are close to the Promenade, and on the shopping/Queen's Grill Restaurant level. Are they noisier and therefore not as good as the QG rooms (single occupancy) on Deck One (e.g., Room 1032 or 1035)?

Also, these particular rooms, even though in the Queens Grill category, do not have Butler service. Am I missing out on a lot?

I had 8209 and I could hear music from the shows. Liked the cabin, but ... just outside your window passengers walk along Boat Deck and "Cabin Crawl" and have a look in. Often!

Worse, whenever it is dark you must always close the draperies ... at night behind the sheer curtains you might not think of it, but when you've lights on anyone can look in and see you in private moments.

Saw One Deck cabins, liked then better.

I really appreciate that insight.

Weighing the possible positives -- Did you enjoy being so close to the Queen's Grill, and did you enjoy being on a deck that had only Queen's Grill passengers? :? Was there a steward readily available on Boat Deck to help you out?
