Upon arrival in Southampton, does anyone know of bus or taxi service to the Southampton Airport (to p/u Rental car)? Curious if anyone had any experience on this. Please advise, and Thanks!!!
Taxis come into the Queen Elizabeth Terminal when a ship is in port - the taxi rank is only a few feet from the exit to the arrivals hall. I don't know, however, how long you might have to wait. I always drive to and from Southampton.
Hi Frank, following on from the previous reply, we've always found the taxis to be in plentiful supply. Also at the taxi pick up point there is (or used to be) a display of the charges so that you know you are not being 'taken for a ride'.
The journey from dock to airport is about 20 minutes, depending on traffic.
Have a great cruise over.
Alan & Katrina

Cunard runs several coaches to Heathrow and Gatwick Airports from Southampton. Used this service Easter last year - we disembarked earlier that most other passengers and it was a quick and comfortable trip to Heathrow where we had left the car (one of the disadvantages of doing a one-way transatlantic). Despite having to get on to a bus to take us to the hotel where the car was, we were home earlier than if we had driven from Southampton - our lowly grade of cabin doesn't entitle us to early disembarkation.
I did the Southampton - Heathrow shuttle once before (National Bus?). Problem here is I was looking for a shuttle direct to Southampton Airport (where I'm picking up car rental).
