It's a nice sales tactic and I'm sure some folks will bite, but the only problem I see is that lots of people do blogs from the World Cruise and don't charge a cent to let others view them.
My guess is you'd have better luck just doing the blog and then taking the opportunity to promote your upcoming book with it.
