Queen Elizabeth?

Does anyone know what this ship is going to be like?

When does she come out? Is she more like Queen Mary 2 or Queen Victoria - or in a class all her own?

Hi there,

From what we have been told on this side of the pond, at 90,400 tonnes she will be more like Queen Victoria than Queen Marry 2, but with an Art deco style of her own. Other press releases have reported that there will be a croquet lawn, bowling green.

Her Maiden Voyage is down for October 12th.

There is a link off of the Cunard UK website, which you may be able to see Queen Elizabeth : Luxury Cruise Ship : Cunard Cruise Line
It gives you images, mock-photos, stats, a press conference video from Carol Marlow, 'the story so far' & so on.

Hope this helps, we are certainly looking forward to seeing her.

Hmm... Carol Marlow moved on as CEO. She is a nice lady.

I hope they do something very original with Queen Elizabeth, it woud be a bit of a letdown if she is too close to Queen Victoria.

Qe--oct 12 2010--roll call?

Stephanie and Edith from Dallas TEXAS USA have our assigned cabin! YEAH!
Anyone else here planning on that trip?
Curious as to Carol Marlowe's new location?

Here in the UK we are told she will be closer to Queen Victoria in shape and tonnage, however her interior will be completely different. They are trying to have a more traditional feel onboard and many of her public rooms will have decor similiar to those of her predecessors such as QE2. ALso I recently found out a very good interesting fact about her that she will only be one wider and longer then QE2.

I am fortunate enough to have been invited to see the ship in the shipyard at the end of this month. I also went to see the Queen Victoria in the shipyard when she was close to completion and that was really a treat - expect plenty of coverage about the ship in CruiseMates and other places around August 1st.

I'm booked on the Maiden Crossing in January! It will be my ~20th time on Cunard. I'm hoping they keep the best of QV and bring back some of the things that made QE2 special. Sorry to see they got rid of the Champagne Bar. We spent a lot of time in there on QM2 and QV, but few others were ordering champers, so I guess they couldn't justify it based on revenue.
