what has been the best gadget someone has taken with them to make life easier
What do people taken on a cruise with them to make life aboard easier. i have been doing lots of research for my up and comming first cruise and have discovered loads of interesting gadgets people take with them, such as extension leads, bungie cord to keep balcony door open, clothes hooks to hang over the shower door From what i have read the list is endless that i am surprised there is room in peoples cases for the clothes. With all the new gadgets that are out now does anyone take anything different from the norm? for instance i would take my Sling link Box if the interent was cheaper and faster so i can catch up with the soaps on TV but then i am a sado
A power strip to use for all the electronics, including my Kindle You really should not bring a bungie, because of the air conditioning issues....A garbage bag to use a a hamper for dirty clothes in the closet, then to pack in the suitcase..

My Ipad. I had books on it, magazines and music on it, it acted as both a night light and a clock, it housed all of our cruise documentation on it, scanned copies of our passport. Airline Apps told me our flight was delayed before it was posted by the airline. Great wifi reception in the cabin so we never had to go to the Internet Cafe.

I'm buying a ipad to take with me so i can keep in touch with my Children and down load movies to watch off an evening. I gather I will have to pay for the wi fi in my cabin which is ok but i am hoping I will be able to use skype when we are on land. Apart from the ship sinking and me drowning my next worry is my family not being able to contact me. OH has a kindle but i would rather have the old fashioned books to read. wow i am so excited

A bungie can be used to help hold a suitcase together if it breaks, this along with duck tape. I used it when my suitcase got smashed before it reached my cabin on one cruise. Not likely to happen, but it did.
small--rotates 360° so it will fit in the plugs usually located on cabin dresser--can charge USB items (phones)--use as multiplug--surge protector--cheap, half the price I paid a few years ago

Trip, I came accross a better idea (on this forum, I think!) pack a pop-up hamper. They are sturdy and be kept anywhere there is room. They fold down to take up no room at all in your suitcase.

Queen, I have one of those on my car for trash on a smaller scale...love em! The only thing I would say is with the trash bag, you just flatten and pack it..

So, it's full of dirty clothes, but what do you do to take the stuff home? I go with the plastic bag and pack back into the suitcase to keep the soiled clothes away from anything clean.

All the dirty clothes go together one suitcase. It really doesn't matter for me though, because when I travel, EVERYTHING gets washed upon return.

Battery-operated tea lights. Last year my sister got up several times during the night to use the bathroom, she would turn on the light then open the bathroom door wide and of course light up the cabin disturbing me.
After hearing me complain about it a friend suggested I try these. So when I cruised with my cousin this year I left one on the bathroom counter at bedtime. It gave enough light to light up the bathroom but not disturb me when the door opened. In the morning I would turn it off and stow it on the shelf and it lasted most of the week. (I brought a pkg. of 2).
