I'll be sailing on the Radiance on Oct. 7th and want to visit the Butchart Gardens in Victoria. I can walk with a cane but am bringing my wheelchair with me. I know walking around the gardens` is too much for me and need to know if I can bring my wheelchair on the "ship booked" tour or if I need to make my own way there once `we get off the ship.
Most often there is no problem putting your wheelchair (or a stoller for those with children) in the luggage bay of the tour bus. Can you climb the steps in/out of the bus? If not, you need to get your own transportation. Check with the tours desk of the ship about this ahead of time.
You may be limited in areas you can go in a wheelchair at the Gardens, as there are stairs in some locations. Remember that it is build in the remains of a quarry. They do not mention wheelchair access at all on their website, but you can send them questions from there:
