Hello all,
I am taking my new scooter on it's first cruise this next week. We are using cruise line transfers.
My question is about our next cruise. We are doing our own air (frequent flyer miles), and will arrive in Ft. Lauderdale a day before our cruise. We have cruiseline transfers from the ship to the airport on our return. How do we find a lift equipped ride from the airport to the hotel, and then from the hotel to the dock the next morning? Do I need to make reservations ahead?
Any information gratefully accepted. Thanks!
Hi DesrtDrmr,
Try this phone # 1-800-637-7577 or 1-561-748-8414. They will transport you in their van, from the airport to your hotel, just like a taxi service. They are part of a nation wide chain. Good luck.........Will in KY
I never followed up on this posting.
It turned out that our hotel provides a shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and then from the hotel to the port. Since they provide a free shuttle for able bodied guests, they will also provide an accessible shuttle for those that need one. We did purchase ship transfers from the ship to the airport after disembarkation. Last cruise, the ship provided a bus to she ship, where they folded my scooter and put it underneath, and from the ship, they provided a minivan with a ramp.
If anyone else is wondering about this, check with your hotel.
Just be aware that many times the accessible shuttles seem to have problems with equipment. you can also call an accessible cab from any hotel. I have done that as well as the shuttle thing.
usually the cruise lines can offer lift vehicles. make sure to mention the lift need to your travel agent. Another great option for cruise transfers and transport is www.thetransferanswer.com they do cruise transfers. They may be able to help too
