Am taking my mom with Power chair on the Zenith in September to Bermuda. Was told that you can't get close to the ship to unload, true or not? Have e-mailed to the port but have not heard back from them. My friends said that they were bussed back to the ship and we cannot do that. Mom can't do steps at all and ther's the issue of the chair.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The NY pier is just like an airport - your driver pulls up, you give your bags to the porter, then enter the building. You will get on line to go through screener and after all check-ins you board.
You don't have any steps. If you got dropped off on the lower level, you just take the elevator up.
I've taken wheelchair on 4 cruises with no problem at all.
You'll be brought to the front with assistance - a piece of cake.
