Handicap transportation in Barbado & Curacao

My husband and I will be cruising on the Dawn Princesss 12\13-12\23\04. I have booked ship excursions for Bardados(photo tour) and Curacao(Seaquarium) on Air conditioned buses. I have been told by Princess that they are handicapped accessible. I don't need a wheelchair but I am unsteady on steps. Has anyone gone on any of these excursions? I would appreciate any input. Thank you.

Did Princess say these buses were lift equipped? They have told us before that transportation was "accessible" and then we found their concept of accessible was "only 2-3 steps" and able to carry your wheelchair in the luggage compartment!!!! Call them back and confirm that you can get into the bus without having to take any steps at all, and that it is lift equipped.

Curacao is a nice port. If you can't get to the Seaquarium, it is an easy town to stroll around in with a wheelchair. Some curb cuts, and most shops level or only 1 step, which we can manage with our manual wheelchair.

Thank you for your suggestions. Now I know the proper way of asking to get the needed info. I will call Princess again and question them furtrher about the vehicle's accessibility.

On Curacao you have Joseph Cares, a small company with fully wheelchair accessible buses. They will pick you up at the port. For your information: News
