Default getting through security

Hi! I will be sailing in Sept. In April I had a complete knee replacement
Does anyone know how hard it will be for me to get through security?
The place I had it done does not give out a card or anything stating you had it done.
Thanks for any info you can give me
BJ

You should be fine since most of the replacement is made of plastic. If you set the beeper off just tell them when they scan you.

Just tell them. They will probably pull you aside for a individual search/scan. If needed, be prepared to show them your scar.

I have been disabled for many years. I always travel in a wheelchair. The airlines will have a rep take you through security and have you wanded. Only once did I get patted down and remove shoes. I needed help getting them off and on. TSA was polite, but slow. I suggest that you contact the airline in advance to let them know your situation. Request assistance. At the airport, assert yourself, ask for the necessary help. Be patient. You are protected by the ADA. Howver, in some airports, you really run the risk of being ignored. It has happened to me. Pick up your phone and call the airline for help. Tell them your location and hope they respond. Good luck!

I have 3 rods in my legs and I have never had a problem. Once the scanner went off when they were using the wond. I showed them my scars and they said they knew it wasn't anything to worry about because the signel it gave off was different than if it had been something to alert them to.
