Default Looking for some answers to my Questions

Hi, 8)

Yes I live in sunny Florida. But just recently fell in love with cruising.
I will be going on my second cruise this year along with my dear Hubby.
Oct. 14th out of Ft. Lauderdale on Princess cruise lines. We will be going to the Eastern Carribean. Was hoping that someone out there would be able to answer some questions for me about getting around in the ports and aboard the ship. I have a wheel chair along with a small travel scooter. We just have no ideal what to expect on the islands or the ship.
Any help would be really appreciated. I am so excited. We have a handicapp room with Balcony on the Baja floor.

I do believe that this is one of the most wonderful ways of relaxing and forgetting about your cares for 7 full days, and meeting some awesome people that can lead into lasting friendships.

Hope to see some of you there. Lori and Jim

It would help if you would post the ship you are taking, and what ports you will be visiting.

Don't expect much in the way of USA-type accessibility ashore, but there are resources in some Eastern Caribbean ports. Unfortunately there is not much of this information on this site. You might want to visit the "other" major discussion board for cruisers with disabilities (sorry, they won't let us post the name or URL here). If you can't find it, you can e-mail some of the regulars here as most know about both.

We have travled with both a wheel chair & a scooter. What ports are you going to? I might be able to help you if you give me specific islands. On the ship, you should have NO problem with either scooter or wheelchair. Just ask any crew member if you need help with something. Email me if you want to ask specific question.

We docked in St. Thomas. I believe if you use a search engine to find St. Thomas-related sites, those sponsored maybe by the local businesses, there is at least one tour guide who offers accessible vehicles.
