Question about non-handicap room toilets

My mom and dad want to go with us in march on our cruise but Carnvial doesn't have any handicap rooms left. They would be getting a interior room with his military discount. Question is, my dad has a hard time getting up and down out of chairs and he is really worried about the bathroom. Can he lean on the sink or hold on to something when he gets off the toilet? I have been on cruises but I just can't remember and can't find any pictures of the bathroom. Does anyone remember what a non-disabled room looks like? Thanks

Does he walk? Can he get up over the 6" step into the bathroom, even at night? There are generally no grab-bars except occasionally inside the shower. Have you asked for a raised toilet seat to attach to the toilet? This would make rising from the toilet easier. Otherwise, someone may have to assist him.

I use what is called a three in one toliet
it can fold up and when unfolded it slides over the toliet, it has arm rests and raises the height
here is a link to one, never bought from this link before as I just get them at my local pharmacy but wanted to show you what they look like
you do not have to bring the bucket part just the sides and seat, so it will slide right over the actual toliet in your cabin

if you want to bring the bucket part you can keep the potty area right next to the bed
