Default NORWALK-TYPE VIRUS

Disney Magic Passengers, was it really outragous or are they overstating the risk of the Norwalk Virus.

I'd like to know also. We are scheduled for the 7 Day Magic Cruise in mid-January, 2003. Is the expectation that the mysterious virus will have dissipated by then? Is it really that bad?

Strange that the only Disney ship with health problems is the Magic.

Wonder shares the same terminal, the crew swaps between ships, they use the same source of provisions, yet only one ship has the persistant problem.

Default virus thought

I worked on the Disney Magic for a very short period of time, and had predicted that something would go majorly wrong....or that people would get terribly sick.....
I had warned security and doctors/nurses.....but I guess they didn't believe me.
As I now hear that my premonitions were true, I kind of start to laugh and want to say
"see I told you so." I had predicted this back in May 2002.

The illness while not pleasant by any means, let's face it, vomiting and diarrea with stomach cramps is most unpleasant, it isn't life threatening and is quite common. We used to call it the stomach flu. Yes I do personally believe that the news media has blown it out of proportion as have a number of the passengers. Remember when the CCL ship Tropical had a minor engineroom fire a few years back and after being delayed for a day and when they were coming back into port some were waving homemade banners at news helocopters how they were dying and to please save them!

The Norwalk type virus has infected Clay County, FL. That's where I live. The paper says it is probably transmitted by mosquitoes. Life goes on. We are not washing down the town with clorox. Those who have the virus wish they didn't, but aren't incapacitated.
