I am taking my daughter on our first cruise Sept 12th and I thought is would be nice not only to meet other people, but to meet fellow single-parents going. Please feel free to respond

Sincerely,
Bridget

Hi Bridget,

I too am a single mother (5 year old daughter) and am thinking of taking very first DCL cruise (well very first cruise in fact). I'd like to go later in the fall.
If you don't mind sharing some information w/ another single parent when you return I would very much appreciate it.

When booking your Sept cruise, did you go through a travel agent? disney website, or any other internet travel website. Being that you and your child would be considered two occupants were the rates the same? or did they charge slightly lower for the child?
Any hints/tips?

Many thanks,
Annie

I'm not a single parent but Dreams Unlimited and All Seas Travel seem to have the best rates for Disney Cruises. Children pay full fare when only traveling with one adult.

I'm a single parent of 2 teens. We did the Disney Wonder last August and going back this August. Had an awesome time. They do not discount for children. I found that booking directly thru Disney Cruise Lines was the best price after checking with lots of Travel Agents. Disney Cruise Lines was also the most knowledgeable, helpful and nicest of all the travel agents that I visited or spoke with. Most travel agents tried to talk me out of going on Disney by saying it was so expensive and to book something else with them. Disney is more expensive and after doing 10 other cruises, Disney was the best. Have a great time.
