I'm afraid of bridges and I was told that there is a really big bridge to cross driving from Orlando to Port Canaveral. Is this true? If so, is it really high and really long ? Also, If so, is there anyway to avoid it?
The high bridge you'll have to cross goes over the Indian River. I drive over it a lot. It is not long--pretty much up and down, and is about 60' high. I've driven over "really big" white knuckle bridges, and I don't consider this one of them. There is no convenient way around it, and definitely no way to the port without bridges. The bright side is, when you hit the top of the bridge, you can look straight ahead and get the first look of your ship off in the distance.
