Default Only been on Carnival and RCCL..Will i Like Disney??

Hey all!!

I have been on the RCCL Rhapsody and alot of Carnival cruises...They are all great..But so far i would have to say that Carnival is our Favorite!!

Anyway..We just got off of the Carnival Elation July18-25,2004!!Had a BLAST!!In Cozumel we docked beside the Disney Magic! My youngest daughter loved the ship in all!!She was saying "lets go see mickey mouse!!"Because you could see him at the top!!But my Oldest daughter on the other hand..is a Carnival Cruise Junkie and LOVES CARNIVAL!!

One of the reasons why my youngest daughter wants to go on it is because of the Horn!!its really cool!

Can you please help me??We have watched the Disney DVD!!It looks like it will be a fun cruise!

another question....was anyone on the Disney magic july 17-24??

Thanks for yalls help!!

I haven't cruised RCCL yet, but I've been on Carnival and Disney, and I have to say that I prefered the Disney cruise. If your kids liked the childre's program on Carnival, they'll be exstatic about the program on Disney. The characters are much more available to meet and get autographs or give hugs to than if you went to the parks. The entertainment was very good. The food was MUCH better on Disney than on Carnival. I found Carnival's food to be good, but Disney's was just incredible. The same thing with the service in the dining room, Carnival was good, Disney was incredible. Both cruise lines ran a clean ship, and I didn't have any problems with room service on either cruise line.

Also, something that almost NEVER is mentioned, Disney gives you a better selection of free drinks on board. On the other cruise lines you have to pay for anything except water (even with your dinner!). On Disney, you can get soda, a good selection of juices, iced teas, etc., WHENEVER you go to one of the dining rooms. It sounds like something little, but that's something that really irked me on Carnival (having to pay for a glass of non-alcoholic beverage with my dinner). Also, they have free drinks by the lido buffet, and the area is very well maintained and well stocked.

Don't get me wrong, I liked Carnival, and would cruise Carnival again (especially if I got a good deal), but the Disney cruise was worth the extra money. We booked a second cruise with Disney within a month of getting off of the ship, and are planning to book another Disney cruise while we're still on board this November to take advantage of the discount they offer if you book on board.

Just did the Disney Wonder 8/19/04 and it was awesome. Traveled with a 16 and 18 year old and a senior citizen. Both of my teens loved Disney and we did 8 Carnival cruises. There is just soooo much for everyone to do. Disney really made us feel special. The attitude of everyone on Disney vs. Carnival was so different. You can tell the people on Disney loved what they were doing while the people on Carnival acted like it was just a job. The service and shows on Disney were excellent. We booked another Disney cruise for next August 2005.

Lemonade, juice, tea, punch and coffee are all free on Carnival - available on the Lido deck 24/7.

Just a note for the adults - there's no casino on Disney. I doesn't bother me as I don't gamble (other than bingo) but thought I'd mention it.

Dorothy,

My experiences with Carnival's Lido deck were unpleasant actually. Disney has a set-up on the Lido deck with free coffee, iced tea, lemonade etc., as well, but I never had a problem getting what I wanted on Disney.. whenever I went to the Carnival Lido deck for a drink they had run out of milk for coffee/hot chocolate and there were always dirty cups and spilled beverages around the area.
