howdy,
Disney has great menu selections for those of us who cant have, or choose not to have sugar. However after 5 cruises we have one area that Disney needs to improve on.
We feel that disney should have sugar free ice cream at scoops and sugar free cookies on the afternoon cookie tray on deck 9.
This should be easy for them to do as they already have these products on board.
We were told that you could go to the restaurants at lunch and get ice cream and take up to the pool area, but that isn't a good option. The restaurants are closed for several hours during the course of the day, and if your in your swim suit you dont want to go and change just to get ice cream, and they don't want you showing up in the restaurants in swimsuits.
Doing all that kind of ruins the "magic" of having an ice cream with the family around the pool. If you've ever had to feel left out or feel like the odd ball in the crowd you'll understand what I'm talking about.
It must be really hard to be a child and see all this around you and you can't have any because your different! I'm trying to make this better for all those people who are affected by this by writing or calling the cruise line. I would appreciate any of you who would do the same. Disney does take all suggestions very seriously. We have seen many improvements with each new cruise.
You can e-mail them by going to the official disney cruise line web site, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on contact us., or just give them a call.
Thankyou for your help. I'd love to hear any suggestions you might have too. Please let me know if you decide to help our cause.
sincerely a concerned mom and grandma with lots od special dietary needs in her family,
Kathleen
