Balcony Staterooms ??

I'm looking into a 4-night Disney cruise this Fall with my husband and two children, aged 3 and 5. I'd like to know if the locks on the balcony doors are withing reach of a small child or whether it is located near the top of the door. As my youngest is a climber, I'm concerned about her climbing on the balcony railing.

Hi,
The locks on your door to the balcony are 1/2 way up the door, just like a regular door. The big difference is the door slides to the left and it is very heavy!! I have to really tug hard to get it to move. There are also drapes you can pull across them to help keep the kids minds off of it until you are ready to go outside with them. With our grandkids they were so busy running all day in the clubs ,the only time they were in the rooms were to change clothes for dinner, nap and sleep at night. After they first saw the balcony they never really thought much about it again as they were so busy with other things. Also there are 2 TV stations with disney movies 24 hours a day so that will help occupy them for a few minutes while your in the room. If your child is very strong they might be able to unlock and slide open the door, but the odds are it will be too heavy for them.

Thank you very much for your reply. I also received an email from Disney that there is in fact a child safety lock at the top of the balcony door for additional security (just in case anyone else had the same concerns).

Thankyou for checkin this out. I have had a balcony 9 times and never noticed the lock at the top. I guess i was too busy just trying to open the regular lock each time. I will pass the word along on other sites if someone else has concerns too.
