Default Southern Ports near Louisiana to set sail on with kids

We have sailed Carnival and about to in 20 days again........We haven't taken the kids yet but we want to next year either in March for Easter or July. We live in Louisiana an wanted a port closer for Disney cruise but where do we go to see where Disney cruises set sail?

The only cruises close to us are Carnivals (Mobile, New Orleans and Galveston).

Anyone can recommend maybe any other ones besides Carnival?

Port Canaveral is the only port where Disney sails out of.

Royal Caribbean is suppose to have good kids programs but i have never crusied them and other than Port Canaveral I'm not sure where they sail from.

WE took grandkids on Carnival glory in July and they didnt like the kids clubs. They said Disney was 100 times better than Carnival. They were 16 and 12 at the time. They have done 3 other crusies but they insist Disney is the best for them

Good luck finding one closer to home, sorry I cant be of more help to you.

Kathleen

Out of LA your best bet other than Carnival is NCL. The disadvantage is smaller cabins than Carnival but they have a very highly acclaimed kids program and freestyle dining which works great when cruising with kids.

Myself I didn't really care for NCL or their freestyle dining. I still had a great time but enjoyed Carnival much more.

I would recommend the 12 hour drive to Cape Canaveral and Disney. It is a lot further but it allows you more freedom on ports of call sailing from Florida.
