Radisson at the Port- anyone tried??

We have booked pre-cruise night at the Radisson at the Port. Good price, which includes parking (we are driving from south Florida).

Has anyone stayed here before? Nice?

Is the resort shuttle reliable? Or better to take a taxi (short distance)?

This is a very nice property with a great pool. I am from the area and that's where we have our reunions. We stayed there once before a cruise used the shuttle and it was fine. You are only 5 minutes away so it would be a cheap taxi ride too. Call the hotel a couple days before you arrive and put your name on the shuttle list to get the best time. Have dinner at Grill at the port the night before.

we have stayed their twice and are booked again for this November.
they now have sleep number beds in all the rooms which is a nice perk.

pool is great, nice wading pool for young kids.
5 minutes to port, shuttle works just fine, as stated above call and reserve a time for it.

Mc.Donalds across the street, Zacherys to one side and an Italian restaurant on the other that has great pizza.

also the restaurant right in the hotel is very good and plenty of food per order.

If you arrive early and want something to do, you can walk 10 minutes to a manatee park, free admission. clean restrooms, fun for everyone.
People at the desk should be able to give directions. really close.

We just stayed there in beginning of Dec 2008 and had a great stay. you can book the shuttle 2 weeks in advance. It was on time and they pick you up upon return for free.

Also stayed there in Dec- shuttle right on time both ways. Nice room and good value for the price.
