Length of Dream Cruises

I was poking around the DCL website and it appears that the Dream only does 3, 4 or 5 night cruises. Is that so? I have been on a couple of Disney cruises, one was a 4 night but the other was 7. Are they just sold out of the longer cruises or are they trying some new type of marketing thing? Anyone know?

I have been on the Magic a few times when the Captain was talking about the Dream. Captain Tom will be it's new Captain. He said simply the decision had been made to send the Wonder to the West coast first, so the Dream will be taking its place. The Wonder currently does 3, 4 and 5 day cruises.
Then in 2012 when The Fantasy comes out it will take the Magics place.

Since they wanted to start Alaskan cruises and the Wonder was the first ship headed for drydock, it could easily be fitted it for icy waters, it was the logical choice to be sent to the West coast first.

I was disappointed that the Dream is doing the shorter cruises because I like the longer cruises. So I will wait until 2012 to do the Fantasy and then someday do the Dream.

So the new ships will take the spots of the older ships. What happens to the older ships? You said the Wonder may be fitted for Alaskan cruises, what about the Magic?

The Magic will go to California too but it will do Mexican Riveria cruises and sometimes a special longer cruise like it does now.
There has been talk of a 2 week cruise to Hawaii but nothing is set yet. Its all on the talking stages according ot the Captain we talked with.

Wow, a two week Hawaii cruise would be one not to miss. I hope that pans out.

MY impression is that Disney intentionally keeps their cruises shorter because they are meant to be part of a Disneyworld package deal.

Maybe when the new sister to Dream comes out it will do longer cruises.
