Castaway Cay

My teenage daughter and I are going on the Disney Dream in April. I usually book shore excursions ahead of time but is this necessary for Castaway Cay? I ask because I was thinking of booking the one for teenagers for her but should she decide she would rather "hang" with her mom then I would be out that money. Can I wait until we get there to book that or snorkle equipment? Thanks for your help.

Snorkeling equipment does not need to be reserved; they have a very large supply and it can be rented on a "walk-up" basis.

I'm not sure about excursions; we've always been very content and satisfied with the free amenities on the island.

I wouldn't recommend it for castaway. When we took our trip Castaway was one of those ports that we were able to just sit back and enjoy. No rushing to meet reservation times, no hustling around. It was one of the most relaxing and pleasurable days of the trip.

The snorkeling you can pretty much just walk up and get your gear. There's plenty of space on the beach, and even free swimming stingrays in the water (which eliminates the need to reserve a spot to pet them)!

I wouldn't worry too much for planning on Castaway.
